The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially started the NEET 2026 Registration process on 08 February 2026. As per the public notice released by NTA, the NEET (UG) 2026 examination will be conducted on 03 May 2026 in offline mode across India.

NEET UG 2026 is a mandatory entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH courses, BVSc & AH, and B.Sc Nursing (MNS). Candidates aspiring for medical and nursing admissions in 2026 must submit the online application form before the deadline.

What Is NEET UG 2026?

NEET (UG) 2026, short for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate), is the single national-level entrance examination for admission to undergraduate medical and allied health courses in India. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

As mandated under the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act, 2019 and the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, qualifying NEET UG is compulsory for admission to the following courses across all medical institutions:

  • MBBS and BDS
  • AYUSH courses – BAMS, BHMS, BSMS, BUMS
  • BVSc & AH
  • B.Sc Nursing (Military Nursing Service – MNS)

NEET UG 2026 Exam Date, Timing & Mode

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the NEET UG 2026 examination on 03 May 2026 in offline (pen-and-paper) mode across various exam centres in India.

  • Mode of Examination: Offline (Pen & Paper Based)
  • Duration: 180 minutes (3 hours)
  • Exam Timing: 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM (IST)

Candidates are advised to reach the exam centre well before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card and follow all NTA exam-day instructions.

NEET UG 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for NEET UG 2026 must meet the eligibility conditions prescribed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Only eligible candidates will be allowed to appear for the examination.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 or equivalent examination.
  • Mandatory subjects in Class 12:

    • Biology / Biotechnology
    • English

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 17 years as on 31 December 2026
  • There is no upper age limit as per the latest NTA guidelines.
